The alleys and streets in Middelburg are incredible. The best way to discover them is to just go and see for yourself. No map, no route: dare to let yourself go and get lost. Don't forget your phone, because you will want to take some great pictures. Surprising little courtyards and squares reveal the backside of the city.
It's almost like walking through a painting. The Kuiperspoort is named after the cooper's guild that was founded here. From here, you can discover the area behind the Damplein via all kinds of winding alleys and quaint courtyards. Parallel to the Kuiperspoort, you will find Schuddebeursstraat, the narrowest street in Middelburg. Everyone should try walking all the way through the Kuiperspoort to the end at the Rouaanse Quay. Here, you will find the Poorthuis.
